Round of Skeet
One round of skeet consists of 25 targets (17 singles, 8 doubles). Your initial miss is repeated and referred to as an option. If you do not miss any targets, your 25th target is shot at the last station, low house 8. The shooting sequence is:
- Stations one and two: high house single/low house single/high house/low house pair
- Stations three, four, and five: high house single/low house single
- Stations six and seven: high house single/low house single/low house/high house pair
- Station eight: high house single/low house single
Trapshooting
Trapshooting competitions take various forms: singles, handicap, and double-target. The targets are thrown from one trap and any gauge shotgun can be used.
For singles shooting, contestants fire from 5 different stations 16 yards behind the trap.
When the shooter yells "pull", the clay target is thrown into the air, away from the shooter. The clay pigeons reach around 24 feet in altitude and reach a distance of 150 feet or so.
